Here are the kids reading the Advanced Readers&#8217; Copies that I had delivered to them during part one.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/belldandy.booksite.com\/blimages\/ckupload\/imgnpkKh3perryclass17.jpg\" width=\"600\" align=\"middle\" hspace=\"5\" vspace=\"5\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s always a great project but this year was a particularly great group of fourth graders. The kids were totally engaged with the books. Two in particular had really captured quite a few readers. <em>Cosmic Commandos<\/em> didn\u2019t surprise me since a strong new graphic novel was sure to please and would have been easy to pass around during the review time, but <em>Watchdog<\/em>, a more involved book about a robot watchdog named Daisy surprised me. After going over<a href=\"http:\/\/site.booksite.com\/5822\/nl\/?list=CNL10\"> their book reviews<\/a> I asked a few questions.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/booksite-app.appspot.com\/coverart\/5822\/9781101994481.jpg\" width=\"200\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"5\" vspace=\"5\" \/><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Kenny: <\/span>What would you have done differently if you had written the book you read?<br \/>\nKeyra: The age for the book (<em>Nutcracked<\/em>) should have been different. It said it was for 10-13 but it should have said it was for 12-14.<br \/>\nLeah:\u00a0 I think the plan should have been known earlier. You didn&#8217;t find out until the end.<br \/>\nLeyani: The title only described one part of the book. Ben Franklin was only in the bathtub for one paragraph, but it grabbed my attention.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">Kenny: <\/span>Would you choose to spend time in the world of the book you read? If so how long?<br \/>\nJesslyn: Squishers \u2013 I would have.<br \/>\nElla: I would have lived with criminals. I would not want that.<br \/>\nKeyra: I would not want friendship problems, but would like the magic stuff.<br \/>\nEmma: No, I am not ready for middle school.<br \/>\nKaden: I wouldn\u2019t want the scary stuff but I would want the awesome things that happen.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/booksite-app.appspot.com\/coverart\/6334\/9780375869020.jpg\" width=\"200\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"5\" vspace=\"5\" \/> <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Kenny: <\/span>What series book you\u2019re waiting for the most right now?<br \/>\nBrandon: Magic Tree House #78.<br \/>\nEli: <em>Bravelands<\/em>, I really want to read the next one. Also <em>Cosmic Commandos<\/em>.<br \/>\nBode: \u00a0A new <em>I Survive<\/em> book.<br \/>\nTyler: I want another <em>Wonder<\/em> book.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">Kenny:\u00a0 <\/span>It is definitely past time for her to write a new book.<br \/>\nKaden: A new <em>Watchdog <\/em>book.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">Kenny: <\/span>If you heard that Mrs. Perry has a magical creature at home what would you expect it to be?<br \/>\n<strong>(chorus of voices)<\/strong><br \/>\nA hedgehog.<br \/>\nA cat.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">Kenny: <\/span> Why is the cat magical?<br \/>\nIt\u2019s a cat that breathes fire.<br \/>\nOh I know, a dragon!<br \/>\nActually my hedgehog is magical because it can float in the air.<br \/>\nThe Loch Ness monster.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/booksite-app.appspot.com\/coverart\/5897\/9780062463241.jpg\" width=\"200\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"5\" vspace=\"5\" \/> <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Kenny: <\/span> Wow, Nessie might be a little big for Mrs. Perry\u2019s house.<br \/>\nYeah!<br \/>\nA magical monkey.<br \/>\nA dog that has a wagging tail that makes him fly.<br \/>\nA bull shark that flies and breathes fire.<br \/>\nA giraffe.<br \/>\nA turtle with a really big shell that you could live inside with the turtle.<br \/>\nA grindyloe.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">Kenny: <\/span> Ooh, that\u2019s a water creature, would that live in her bathtub?<br \/>\nDefinitely.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">Kenny: <\/span> Bit of a nasty surprise for her guests.<br \/>\nYeah!<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">Kenny: <\/span>Were there any characters in the book you read that you think would make a good friend for you and why?<br \/>\nLeyani: Ben Franklin because he\u2019s fun, he does a lot of experiments and I like science and he swims.<br \/>\nKeyra: Noah because he likes magical things.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/booksite-app.appspot.com\/coverart\/5822\/9780399554384.jpg\" width=\"200\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"5\" vspace=\"5\" \/>Daric: Daisy the really nice watchdog, because she\u2019s a really smart robot.<br \/>\nSteve: Daisy.<br \/>\nCamdyn: Og the frog.<br \/>\nKaden: Justin, the really nice one who has a lot of friends.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">Kenny: <\/span>Top plot for a book that hasn\u2019t been done yet?<br \/>\nLeyani: A person who could turn into animals with magical powers.<br \/>\nThomas: A robot who wants to live like a human.<br \/>\nBode: A lizard that is invisible.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">Kenny: <\/span> Thanks, everyone!<br \/>\nHooray, Mrs. Perry!
