Here is our worthy winner:<br \/>\nAt the Foreign Anguish Bar &amp; Grill, by Carol Chittenden<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nA troll walks into a bar one night<br \/>\nShe slams her fist on the spalting plank.<br \/>\n\u201cA bucket of blood,\u201d she shouts so hoarse<br \/>\n\u201cAnd shatter a chicken,\u201d she yells to Hank.<br \/>\nHank boils the concoction of murky stain,<br \/>\nWhile plucking and gutting the bird;<br \/>\nHis damp skin drenched with clots of gore,<br \/>\nAsks her cheerfully, \u201cWhat\u2019s the word?\u201d<br \/>\nHer one good socket fixes him hard,<br \/>\nWith butchering gaze and searing sigh.<br \/>\nHer furrowed scalp puckers all tight.<br \/>\nHe winces and wipes the drizzle dry.<br \/>\n\u201cDamned entropy sliced my prey last week.<br \/>\n\u201cIt plied me with drink for nineteen days.<br \/>\n\u201cVegetarians spoil so fast,\u201d she growls.<br \/>\n\u201cNo time at all til a fresh one decays.\u201d<br \/>\nKudos to Carol! Her prize is en route.<br \/>\nA prize is also pending for our runner-up.<br \/>\nAmbrose<br \/>\nIn the depth of a forest named Nodd<br \/>\nAging Ambrose felt awesomely odd<br \/>\nHe decided he\u2019d try<br \/>\nTo discover just why<br \/>\n\u201cWill this spoil my hardened facade?\u201d<br \/>\nAll this butchering, gutting and plucking inside<br \/>\nIf it weren\u2019t oddly awesome, he\u2019d surely have cried!<br \/>\nClots of strange stuff<br \/>\nWere making it rough<br \/>\nWhat was worse, it was searing his pride!<br \/>\nOf the thing neath his scalp he did query<br \/>\n\u201cMight you have intellectual theory?\u201d<br \/>\nThen arms up-stretched<br \/>\nTrue wisdom he fetched<br \/>\nWithout one minuscule worry<br \/>\nA socket protruding his plies of damp skin<br \/>\nSoon led him to see foreign blood furrowed in<br \/>\nNow Ambrose felt drenched<br \/>\nAs it furrowed and wrenched<br \/>\nAnd in spite of it all he did grin!<br \/>\n\u201cWhilst shattered and sliced, this slow boil is vaulting!\u201d<br \/>\nAnd seeing bright stain spreading beauty not halting<br \/>\nHe winces with glee<br \/>\n\u201cI\u2019m so glad I\u2019m a tree!<br \/>\nLook here! Oh my goodness!
