Please Vote Today

Barbara Vey -- November 6th, 2012

I know everyone is sick of all the ads and campaigning, but now the ball is in your court.  Take all the information you have and make your mark in this election.  It’s not really about who you are voting for.  Everyone has a right to their opinion and now’s the time to make it known…at the polls.

When I turned 18, my biggest thrill was voting in my first election.  I walked into that voting booth, the curtain closed and I turned the lever to adulthood.  I knew the struggles that so many people went through before me to be allowed to vote and I didn’t want to make their sacrifices to be in vain.

I am so proud to be an American and this is something I can do for my country.  It doesn’t take long and it gives me an opportunity to get out and see my neighbors at the polls (I vote at the local elementary school).

We’re all book lovers here.  I know you’ve read books about people and places that don’t have the luxury of voting.  Here’s your chance to put up or shut up.

Please share your story of your first voting experience.

Bottom Line:  “Nobody will ever deprive the American people of the right to vote except the American people themselves and the only way they could do this is by not voting.” ~
Franklin D. Roosevelt
