Morning all! Some days you just want to shout in the morning and make sure everyone is as awake as you are.
As many of you know, Sheila Clover English (CEO, Circle of Seven Productions) and I wrote a book several months ago. We both do a lot of workshops and panels, so we took all the questions we were asked and answered them in fun, little book, Marketing, Book Trailers and Author Etiquette in a Nutshell. It’s for new and used not so new authors.
Sheila, being the Über talented person she is, had a book trailer made for us. May I present the video for Marketing, Book Trailers and Author Etiquette in a Nutshell.
This has certainly been a year of new experiences for me. I even have an author’s page on Amazon. It all would have tickled my mom. But I really think Sheila should have used me as an actress in the video. Then I could have joined SAG (Screen Actor’s Guild) and got a page on IMDB (Internet Movie Data Base). Hey, a girl’s gotta dream.
ADDED BONUS! Just leave a comment, “I’d like your book” and I’ll pick one winner to receive a free ebook in the format of your choice.
Bottom Line: I’m now working on my follow up book, How to Keep a Clean House While Traveling and Doing a Bunch of Other Stuff. Just kidding…I hate doing housework.

EXCELLENT!!! Congratulations Barbara!!
Thanks Heidi! It turned out so adorable and I’m very proud of the book. Thanks Sheila for showing me that all things are possible.
You’re on a roll Barbara!!
The sky’s the limit!!
I’d like your book — Sounds like it’s packed with useful info for a newly published author like me! Congratulations!
You’re entered! I hope people have as much fun reading it as we had writing it!
I would love your book, Barb. I’m assuming it’s as witty and awesome as you are. And I have a thought for your follow up book – in a few more years, you can borrow my kids to clean your house. They’ll get out of my hair so I can write, learn responsibility and you’ll get a clean house. Perfect solution! I’m sure they’ll agree.
Yikes! A couple of years?? I can only imagine what it will look like by then. I’ll be on Hoarders: Book Hoarder Edition.
Hope to see bunches of my author friends posting comments and taking advantage of this opportunity and yours and Sheila ‘s excellent advice. Nice trailer, Sheila!
Hi Joysann, it is a really cool video and I hope lots of people come over so I can give a copy away.
Hey Barbara! If it helps, I have a picture of you and I on my IMDB profile!
lol
It’s been so fun and such a learning experience working and now promoting a book with you! Thank you so much!
I’d offer to help with that new “housekeeping” book idea, but, well…I got nothing. You should see my cluttered desk! LOL
OK, I went to your IMDB page and there is no picture of me there. I thought for sure you’d use the one we took with Jason Isaacs.
I thought I had. I just put it up. At least I didn’t remove you from the picture. SOME people do that kind of thing to their friends. ;-P~~~~
LOL, Jason Isaacs was just too cute to share with anyone. You saw the way he kept looking at me.
You mean with with that glint of fear?
No Sheila, more like “How do we dig this other babe and get out of here?”
Congrats Barbara! And great trailer. I remember chatting with you about this and it’s so cool to see it come together.
No need to enter me in the giveaway. I went to take a look on Amazon and darn that 1-click button!
Jeannie, thanks so much for your support. BTW, I’ll be in the St. Louis area at the end of the month.
yes, YES, I would like your book. BTW, I found my way here via google plus. I think that’s one of the first times I’ve used it the way google hoped we would.
Kate, you are entered and yea, Google+ isn’t the end all people thought it would be. But I’m glad you saw it there.
Sheila,
It sounds like quite the year of experiences! I’d like your book so I can put some of that experience to work.
Tracye
Tracye, you are entered and BTW, Sheila just got nominated for a bunch of new awards. She’s amazing.
Love the book trailer! Love both of you! I’d like/love the book. I hardly ever enter contests, so maybe this will be my lucky day!
Beth, there is always a first time and I love and miss you too. Is it almost conference season yet?
I’d like your book. It sounds very useful.
I hope authors find it helpful. After all, it is all the questions they have been asking.
I would love you book. WHY? Because my head is stuck somewhere between Facebook and Twitter, and I think my brain might be on LinkedIn. HELP! I can’t take it anymore!
LOL, I feel your pain. The trick is to just breath and use a timer so you don’t get sucked into the abyss for hours. (I’ve done that already)
Congratulations, Barbara! The trailer is terrific. Of course, I’d love to win the book
Fingers crossed!
Tara, keep those fingers crossed, I’ll post the winner tomorrow. Good luck.
I’d love a copy of your book! It sounds like it’s jam-packed with great information.
Congrats!
If you win, you’ll have to let me know how you like it. Good luck.
Aloha, Barbara! Whether or not I win, I am curious to read this book! I hang on almost every word you write in your blog and what you say at conferences!
Kim, it’s always great to hear from you. Good luck in the drawing.
Great trailer! I’d definitely like your book.
Thanks Tanya, Sheila made us look so professional.
Hi, my first english esoterice novel THE WOLF WITH A BELL in market. You can ask from(www.shaker-media.nl) LEVENT ISLEK.
Levent, you really need to get our book and read the part on etiquette. Your comment is SPAM. If you don’t know why, please do buy the marketing book and help yourself.
I’d like your book! – actually, can’t wait to get it!! Congratulations!
Kim, thanks for stopping by and your name goes in the hat. Also appreciate the Tweet!
Wonderful! Will have to read.
Ann, I hope you enjoy it.
I’d like your book! This is just what I need since I’ve got a book coming out mid-December. Pick me, pick me!
Love your blog..always insightful stuff.
Kris, thanks for the kind words for the blog and congrats on your book in December. Nice Christmas present.
Would love this book! Think it will be helpful in my writing classes. Keep up the great work! That is phenomenal moving up to No. 12 in one day.
Just checked and it’s up to #8. Time to quit watching it and go to bed.
Congratulations on your book jumping on Amazon today! I’m always recommending it to writers everywhere!
Thanks Dianna, I’m glad you liked it and btw, it jumped to #7 this morning. Yes, it’s a good feeling and I now know how authors get sucked into the Amazon game.
Oh, I’d love a book, if you are still giving one away! Advice from Barbara Vey for authors? You bet! And I also bet Sheila’s advice is top notch too. Can’t wait to read it. I know what will be in my stocking this year.
I’d LOVE to have your book.
Thanks for stopping by Terri. The winner is posted in Wednesday’s blog.
Wishing you lots of success with it! Can I get a #6?
We’re working on it. LOL I never thought I’d find myself in this position, but now I can empathize even more with authors.
Congratulations, Barbara! I would love to read your book AND use every bit of advice you give. I’m betting it will make me laugh, too.
I’d like your book… If I don’t win, then will get it on my own.
Looks like something May and I need!
Thank you and keep going!!
And thanks to Seekerville for letting me know about this opportunity too!!
Ooooh, author etiquette! I think I need this book.
What, authors gotta have etiquette now? Everybody thinks we sit in our pajamas all day anyway!
