Our second stop on the bash bus takes us to Stonehenge. It’s age is estimated at 3100 BC. Suddenly I don’t feel very old. Seems like a perfect place to hold our party for thriller, mystery, suspense and adventure authors.

Allison Leotta said, “I’ll bring a cake shaped like a stone and frosted in grey icing, with five candles on top for your 5th anniversary. As my guests, I will bring the hosts of Myth Busters, to see if we can get to the bottom of the legends that surround Stonehenge.” Gabriella Hewitt will be illegally smuggling in a chupacabra and Puerto Rican Rum under her hooded cloak in exchange for any information on where to find some good beer on tap and an ancient book of Druid rituals. That sounds kind of dangerous to me. Heather Snow will bring her Regency-era lady chemist’s supply of cobalt chloride (invisible inks) and the chemicals to reveal it—perfect for leaving or uncovering hidden coded messages. I love puzzles.
Jami Alden thinks this party needs some music, so she’s stopping by with her ipod so we can all dance.
Jillian Stone has asked a very handsome Scotland Yard agent to join us. If anyone can solve
the mystery of Stonehenge, this Detective Inspector can! Shiloh Walker will be bringing a sexy state cop-since we’ll be doing the suspense stuff and she figures having a good investigator around would help and Ezra’s really good at his job. Susan Sleeman also has an Ezra sleuth, “I’m going to bring along Ezra, the sexy detective. If we’re going to be solving crimes, we might as well have a good crime solver or two with us, right?”

Time for food. Mary Easton is thinking something chocolate. A chocolate latte and some sinfully delicious chocolate desert. “I’m bringing a tray of special coffee drinks to share with some of our friends. Look, they are in souvenir mugs. Enjoy. Hugs and happy Stonehenge exploring. This ought to be something to write about,” says Nancy Naigle. A picnic spread for everyone, including Carla Neggers’ favorite wine! Brenda Novak offers a recipe, No-Thought Quick and Easy Salsa Dip & Chips: Place one package cream cheese on platter, pour your favorite salsa (corn salsa makes a fabulous substitute) over.
Carla Swafford is bringing the balloons. For there’s nothing better than dozens upon dozens of floating bright colored balloons to make a party…well, feel like a party! Gemma Halliday feels a party needs Killer Komos cocktails. I’m with Gemma!

Leave it to Cherry Adair, she says, “Those buff guys in black, with T-FLAC printed across their muscular chests, are my favorite counterterrorist guys. They’re serving Sex on the Beach cocktails, and offering hot and spy-cy hors d’oeuvres. Please excuse Hunt, Derek, Michael and Marc if they want to touch you as they perform their serving duties. They adore giving impromptu back and foot rubs. I’ve asked them to be on their best behavior, but you know how these black ops, counterterrorist operatives are when they let their hair down. If you disappear with one of them, consider yourself warned- you might miss the rest of the party.”
I like Duffy Brown’s idea, “I’m bring Emily Thorne with me who is always up for a bit of Revenge.” I love Revenge. The Novel Nation will be bringing a deerstalker and Hercule Poirot style moustache, though they’re still arm wrestling over who gets the hat. And maybe the Pink Panther theme song too. Boy, we’ll never be able to get that out of our heads.
Bottom Line: I really expected at least one dead body to turn up today…kind of disappointed.

Wow…
I would love to visit Stonehenge someday. It’s so mystical, I’d love to just sit and soak up its energy.
that would be a great trip
Very nice! I never win contests, but this is an awesome one
I’m thrilled Allison Leotta brought the Mythbusters (though I personally hope that they leave Stonehenge mystified and perplexed…)
