Whew! I’m exhausted from yesterday. Can you believe there were 2,090 comments! I do because readers and writers are the ultimate party animals. There are 5, count ‘em, 5 eReaders to be given away today. But now I’m ready to push on because the party today is at a crime scene. These authors take their subjects seriously. And we’ve got some superstars here today that have offered up e-readers as prizes.
Our Guest of Honors today, who offered up the e-readers, like their beverages. The ladies at the Killer Fiction blog are coming with Killer Kosmos while Shiloh Walker is lugging in a vat of Bloody Marys (I think I had my fill yesterday, but Joanna Slan and Kat Martin are enjoying them again today). Nancy Naigle ran up and told me, “I bumped into Richard Castle when I was picking up Krispy Kreme doughnuts to bring to the scene, so I’m bringing him along. He’s great at solving murders, and not so bad to look at it either. I wonder what’s under that Kevlar jacket he wears with WRITER on the back?” I think we’d all like to know that Nancy.
“I’ve brought some suspects and murder weapons from the game CLUE. Miss Scarlett is eyeing Castle, and it looks like there might be a revolver in her purse. Professor Plum is surveying the scene, but his pocket watch is dangling from a rope, not a chain. And Mrs. Peacock has either just left an antiques store, or she’s up to no good with that silver candlestick. Hmmm. Whodunit?” wonders Tracy March. Grace Greene says, “Well, since Nancy forgot the Krispy Kremes when she ran into Mr. Castle, I grabbed fresh ones on my way, plus some tea for the cozies and blood-red wine for the thrillers. Should I mention the body I tripped over on the way? Maybe Tracy’s Clues can help us figure out what happened?”
The food had started to arrive now. Terry Odell is carrying in a Death by Chocolate cake, baked
and served by Graham Harrigan. “Kettle Corn, my favorite snack,” said Pamela Samuels Young. Brenda Novak wants everyone to know shes got a fabulous 5 minute-rocky-road-fudge (if that’s appropriate for a crime scene <G>…recipe available if you’d like). Kay Thomas is headed over to the bar with the frozen margaritas….with Chips and Salsa…I am so there. Anita Clenney has brought brownies and I’m thrilled because I have a craving for chocolate about now.
.
For entertainment Joanna Slan said “I will lead the readers in a zumba dance. We will keep on all our clothes, but we’ll also let our sexy out.” But Candace Havens says, “I’d like to bring a Black-eyed Peas party mix. That music will get you jumping! “ Tara Taylor Quinn just keeps yelling, “I’d like to bring the wine!…I’d like to bring the wine!” Sounds good to me Tara.
Decorations look to be slim with Rosemary Harris saying, “I’ll bring all the funeral wreaths….I mean floral arrangements ..unless you think I should pick something more fun.”
.
Since it’s at a crime scene, Mary Buckham is bringing a packet of red herrings and a magnifying glass, Pamela Callow said, “my cell phone to call homicide detective Ethan Drake.” Julie Miller wants, “My SWAT cops to set up a perimeter to keep everyone safe while we’re having fun!” And J. L. Saint came in with Hunky military-type guy with big guns and a to die for recipe. Anita Clenney is bringing Faelan Connor, secret warrior to the murder scene, in case the perp turns out to be a demon in disguise. Faelan’s excellent at spotting those demons and can use his sword, talisman, or time vault to dispatch them back to hell.
.
Hank Phillippi Ryan has a different thought on what to do, “Costumes! It’s not a party if you don’t dress up in glitter and glam—so I’m bringing tiaras and stilettos for all.” Thanks Hank, but I’ll be the one in jammies and the bunny slippers.
.
.
Bottom Line: No worries, the dead body was removed before the party started…just the chalk mark remained.

Here’s the rules. Leave any comment and get an entry to win one of the fabulous prizes. You can comment more than once for more chances. Winners will be randomly picked daily and posted on the blog March 14th. Winners will have one week to claim their prize.
