Writers Compete in Spelling Bee to Support Indie Publishing

On October 30 at the Standard High Line in New York, the Council of Literary Magazines and Presses will present The Place to Bee, a spelling bee pitting a number of writers against each other. All proceeds go to benefit indie lit publishing. Host Ben Greenman will quiz the following writers on their spelling ability:

Jonathan Ames, Kurt Anderson, Jonathan Burnham, Rosanne Cash, Lev Grossman, Robert Levine, Patricia Marx, Bernice L. McFadden, Patrick McGrath, Michael Musto, Francine Prose, Elissa Schappell, Liesl Schillinger, Darin Strauss, Emma Straub, Lynne Tillman, and Amor Towles.
