Meet the C.S. Lewis Bible

Craig Morgan Teicher -- January 11th, 2011

Looking for a fun, easy way to get through the Bible?  Well, now there’s…actually, that’s not what this is.  As part of Harper’s C.S. Lewis reissue program, the publisher has brought out the C.S. Lewis Bible, which is  the regular old bible–it’s HarperCollins’ New Revised Standard Version–interleaved with quotes and soundbites from C.S. Lewis’s religious books, such as The Screwtape Letters.

So,  this is a handy way to get your Bible fix and your C.S. Lewis fix with one book, assuming you have such fixes. The New Yorker‘s Book Bench blog says of the book that while “the pairing of the excerpts and scripture is often too literal,” the reader walks away with a greater appreciation for Lewis’s oeuvre, and may even pick up a thing or two from the Good Book in the process.”

The book pub’d in November, so you can go catch up on your Bible and C.S. Lewis reading right now.
