If you love audiobooks and you love comic books, then you’re going to want to check out The AudioComics Company.
Headed by audio veteran William Dufris, Lance Axt, and Elaine Lee, the AudioComics Company records, produces, and publishes full-cast “audio movies” — complete with full scores and layered soundscapes – inspired by stories from comic books, graphic novels, and genre fiction.
And regardless of your taste in comics, AudioComics is likely to have something for you. Among the company’s offerings are:
- Titanium Rain: In this near-future, sci-fi epic, Civil war in China spirals into global conflict. Nations are destroyed, millions killed. For Air Force pilot Alec Killian, survival will mean shedding some of his humanity in exchange for biotech and machine.
- Honey West: Hollywood’s sexiest detective goes undercover on the set of a low-budget sci-fi film. Who killed the movie’s starlet — the sweet Ingénue, the aging teen idol, the agent boyfriend, or the killer robot?
- The Batsons: If you think your family’s strange, meet The Batsons, a spooky, kooky family of misfit monsters who reside in Flemme Falls, where “awful is lawful and everyone’s mean.” The first two episodes — both of which will be suitable for the kids — are “The Trouble with Fang” and “Carmilla’s Crush.”
- Domino Lady: Thrill to the exploits of the Domino Lady and her alter ego, Ellen Patrick, in the Raymond Chandleresque Southern California of 1935.
The Company’s debut releases are now available for purchase via iTunes, Amazon Mp3, and AudioComics Digital Direct. And there’s more to come. Later this year, AudioComics will be releasing more comic-to-audio projects, including a collaboration with movie and television actor Thomas Jane and his production company, Raw Studios.
